We are now recruiting experienced Tutors and Supervisors 

If you would like to work with us here in ‘The Carlow Academy’ please get in contact us as per the list of requirements below. We are looking to hear from teachers of all subject areas. However, we are looking for the following subject tutor jobs to be filled as soon as possible:

1.      Irish (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)-for weekly grinds as well as having the option of facilitating the ‘Irish Oral Preparatory Course’ and/or the Irish Easter Revision Course and/or the Irish summer courses & camps (please see these course titles on our website for more details)

2.      Maths (up to Leaving Cert Higher or Ordinary Level standard)-for weekly grinds as well as having the option of facilitating the Junior Cycle Maths Easter Revision Course and/or the Leaving Cert Ordinary Level Maths Easter Revision Course and/or the maths summer camp (please see these course titles on our website for more details)

3.      Applied Maths (to Higher Level standard)-[new course curriculum for 5th years in 2022/2023]

4.      English (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

5.      Accounting (to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

6.      Business (to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

7.      Economics (to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

8.      JC Science & Biology (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

9.      JC Science & Chemistry (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

10.  JC Science & Physics (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

11.  Geography (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

12.  History (up to Leaving Cert Higher Level standard)

Two more jobs are advertised below:

1.      We are also looking for a ‘Career Guidance Counsellor’ to join the team with immediate effect to facilitate meetings with students and/or parents as well as giving 2-3 Career talks throughout the year (depending on demand for these talks)  

2.      Finally, we are also looking for ‘Supervisors’ to join the team and to assist us in the study sessions timetable. This would be ideally suited to qualified teachers who wish to get their own school work done while being paid at the same time. Alternatively, non qualified teachers will be considered (experience of working with 2nd level students would be an advantage)

Final note: All ‘Supervisors’ & ‘Tutors’ must be Garda Vetted through ‘The Carlow Academy’ nominated liaison person (Niall) and additionally, all ‘Tutors’ must be registered with the Teaching Council as well as their ‘Tulsa E-learning Children’s First Certificate’

OR

If you are interested in renting out the grinds room on a weekly basis to run grinds for larger groups or courses during the academic school year (subject to availability of these rooms)

OR

If you are interested in facilitating a summer camp for primary or secondary school students and/or oral based intensive week long courses for primary or second level students throughout the school holidays (from end of June to early August- 8 weeks in total) then please get in contact before it’s too late

OR

This premises would also be ideal for any T.E.F.L. (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) company looking for a place to teach the foreign students who visit here in Carlow every year

Please note the following re. potential grinds teachers

You must be a fully qualified teacher with substantial experience in teaching your subjects. We are looking for people who have an excellent work ethic, are efficient and organised, are passionate about their subject(s) and who have excellent classroom management.

‘The Carlow Academy’ tutors must focus on exam paper questions in all grinds and ultimately prepare our students to be as exam focused as possible for their Junior Cycle or Leaving Cert exam.
