Our Story
‘The Carlow Academy’ was established in 2020 as an Academy of study, grinds, revision courses, intensive courses, summer course, summer camps, authentic notes for sale nationally plus much more. It is located in Carlow Town. Our new purpose built fully refurbished premises is centrally located at 134 Tullow Street in Carlow Town (directly above the Bookstation store).
Our main front door entrance is located to the left of the Bookstation store along Tullow Street and our back door exit is along the adjacent Charlotte Street. This premises lends itself most appropriately to a one-way system for health and safety to all staff and students. The building is in an enclosed and quiet location contributing to an ideal environment to engage in productive study. Within ‘The Carlow Academy’ you will have access to a comfortable, spacious and professional space to study six days a week (Monday to Saturday).

The Founder and Director of Education & Studies, Mr Niall Murphy, is a highly experienced secondary school teacher of French and Mathematics. Through his own teaching experience, he noticed that some students struggled to reach their full potential when it came to organised and effective study, often leading to students not getting the results that they are well capable of achieving.
He has been a State French Oral Examiner since 2013 and has also worked as a State Written Examiner for several years so he knows how to get the best out of each of his students. His record of results over the years is commendable with the majority of his students obtaining high grades in both French and Mathematics up to and including Leaving Cert Higher Level standard.
