{"id":25459,"date":"2020-07-12T01:10:33","date_gmt":"2020-07-12T00:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carlowacademy.ie\/?page_id=25459"},"modified":"2021-06-23T13:34:12","modified_gmt":"2021-06-23T12:34:12","slug":"gaeilge-junior-cycle-leaving-cert","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carlowacademy.ie\/gaeilge-junior-cycle-leaving-cert\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaeilge-Junior Cycle &#038; Leaving Cert Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\" style=\"\">Junior Cycle Gaeilge-(An tSraith Sh\u00f3isearach)\u2013Scheme of work-Higher Level (Ardleibh\u00e9a<\/span><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">l) Weekly Grinds Sessions<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>This 30 week intensive Irish course is designed to introduce students to the requirements of the new Junior Cycle Irish exam.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Topic from:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Emphasis is placed on developing key skills as outlined in the new specification (click on link below for more information).<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>How to plan and construct effective writing exercises in relation to the \u2018scr\u00edbhneoireacht\u2019 section of the exam paper.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Focus on Reading, Comprehension, Grammar, Listening Skills and all areas of literature.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Key notes provided on a selection of the texts regarding poetry, short stories and drama from the prescribed material.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>As the Higher Level exam is worth 90% of the overall grade, close attention is paid to exam technique and exam style questions are answered in class.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">The new final Junior Cycle exam now consists of only <strong><em>ONE PAPER for both Higher &amp; Ordinary Level  exams which is 2 hours<\/em><\/strong> in length. Students receive sample answers in all areas of <em><strong>Poetry and Prose<\/strong><\/em>, with significant emphasis on <strong><em>exam technique<\/em><\/strong>.
